What can we do to get teenagers buying books? In the year we have been open we have struggled to get teenagers into the shop. We have organised events for teenagers where no one turned up, we stock piles of Louise Rennisons, Meg Cabots, Anthony Horovitzs etc but they don’t sell, we have three for two second hand children/teenager books but the 8-18 year olds don’t take advantage of it. We stocked lots of Manga but they sat forlornly on the shelves. We have tried to organise events via schools and tried to publicise ourselves through local secondary schools. So what next? Do teenagers not read at all or are they getting books by other devious means? Feedback needed, however obvious, however rude and however cheeky.
