We have now been open for a year and a half and in that time have developed as a shop in many different ways. If you visited us at our grand opening in September 2007 you won’t recognise the place! Better presentation, DVDs, thousands more books, a lot more shelving, we know our customers better and what it is you want from the shop. I am sure there are many ways we could improve, and the shop is in a constant state of change. Ideas very welcome. Our aim from the beginning has been to be a genuine independent bookshop, family run, friendly and efficient. Whilst we are happy to get you the latest bestseller and have them in, we aim to provide you with books you’ll never find in the supermarkets – small publishers, back list novels, independent films, books that challenge. We also pride ourselves on being able to order books for you quickly and at no extra cost. We also keep prices low and many sales and offers are available in the shop. Give us a try. Order something via the website. Try us first. Keep the flag of the independent shop fluttering proudly in the cold breeze of the multinational. For despite all that we have to offer we are constantly making a loss and David and Yvonne have to work at part time cleaning jobs and often work a 14 hour day to pay the bills. This means we find it increasingly difficult to find the energy to put our all into the shop. We just need a few more paying customers to make it work. Support your local bookshop or lose it. Our lease is up for renewal a year and a half from now and we will then have to make serious decisions about the future of the shop. So you have time to enjoy the shop but it depends on you. We want us to be here in ten years time. Do you?

David
