As part of the Saltaire Festival Saltaire Bookshop is offering a wide range of author events, to entice all of you who don’t live in Saltaire, to visit in September, and all you who do to put some dates in your diaries now. The following acts are now booked and confirmed:

Thursday 11 September, 6.30-8pm, Cassandra Clark launches the paperback version of “Hangman Blind”, a medieval whodunnit.

Saturday 13th September, 2pm-3.30, Gervase Phinn reads from his highly entertaining stories and accounts of life and work in North Yorkshire.

Monday 15th September, 6.30-8pm, Sophie Hannah and Adele Geras. Sophie Hannah is making a name for herself as a superb crime writer - with exciting developments in the pipeline.

Tuesday 16th Sept., 6.30-8pm. Ladykillers crime writers appear TOGETHER - Lesley Horton, Carla Banks, Zoe Sharp and Priscilla Masters. A night of delicious crime!

Wednesday 17th Sept., 2pm-3.30. Second Bite poets Joy Howard, Hilary Murray and Gina Shaw give a reading of selected poems from their pamphlet, plus lots more. Ann Alexander from Peterloo Poets has described these poems as “humour, risk taking, general enjoyability”. Second Bite poets were greatly appreciated on their first visit. Hear them again in September.

Thursday 18th Sept, 6.30–8.00pm. Dreamcatchers poets read from their recent anthology - with Joolz Denby, Sue Wood, Ian Parks, Shar Marsh and David Tipton.

Saturday 20th September 6.30-8pm. An evening of SUFI poetry with Dreamcatchers (Afifa and Paul Sutherland).
